French, 2nd language : questions from other students that may be helpful for you



Plaire

ð  It is a verb from 3rd group. It can be translated by “to be liked by”.
Ex. : Catherine aime le chocolat. Catherine likes chocolate. ( In these sentence the subject does the action expressed by the verb)
      Le chocolat plait à Catherine. Chocolate is liked by Catherine ( In these sentence, the subject doesn’t do anything. It’s got a passive sense)
ð  Plaire is not regular. L’indicatif présent is conjugated like this :
Je plais
Tu plais
Il/Elle/On Plaît
Nous plaisons
Vous plaisez
Ils/ Elles plaisent
